Hello everyone, my name is Wendi and I've worked in the graphics department at Valley Vet Supply for the last 12 years doing catalog layout & design. I'd also like to share a bit about my family and lifestyle. I quickly went from being a city girl to a country girl when I married my husband John almost 30 years ago. I'm a wife, mother of 2 grown sons and grandma to 3 adorable granddaughters. We have lived on our 80 acre farm most of our married life. We raise beef cattle from a small herd of 30 Angus and Angus cross. My husband would love nothing more than to ranch full time, however, our operation is small enough to be dubbed a hobby farm so he also works for a local gypsum mining/manufacturing company. The cows are his babies and they come running when they see his truck pull into the pasture and he calls out “BOSS” as they know he has a bag of protein cubes for them. Not surprisingly, “BOSS” was also one of the first words our granddaughters said!
We also have 2 pampered Border Collies named Jess and Jack that are not only our "furkids" but working cow dogs. Of course, they think they're celebrities too as they have also moonlighted as models in the Valley Vet Supply pet catalog…you’ve probably seen them laying on a pet bed or wearing a dog coat!
My best friend operates a non-profit Sheltie Rescue (sheltieshack.com), and you'll see some of her Shelties modeling in our pet catalog too. Our extended critter family also consists of 6 horses, too. Maggie and Rosie are Mustang mares that we adopted from the Bureau of Land Management years ago. Lefty is our Morgan gelding and Buck, Buddy and Libby are Morgan/Mustang crosses. Buddy lost one of his eyes when he was barely a year old. That would slow down a lot of horses or make them skittish, but NOT Buddy, thanks to John doing imprinting with him when he was born. Full of personality with a twist of ornery, Buddy also thinks he’s part deer (or has some jumping genes in his mustang background) because when he thinks the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, he'll be over it like a pro to go check it out!
I'd like to think my life experiences on the farm have helped me with my job at Valley Vet Supply. I’m very much looking forward to sharing stories and product reviews with you as well as encouraging and looking forward to hearing from you, too! Wendi
